The ID is a reference to the element uranium (which is atomic number 92) and one of its isotopes, uranium-235. This Pokémon's sprites and data reference Cotton Candy in many ways, with its ID number of 1904, being the year of the World's Fair event (which began in April) where the first Cotton Candy machines were first debuted. The OT name "Wharton" references the name of one of the co-founders of the product. The nickname "Gossamir" is a reference to "gossamer", which the texture of cotton candy is often likened to, and the suffix "-nir", a common ending to a dragon's name (i.e. "Fafnir", "Dragomir").
