Location of Burole Town in West Tandor.

Burole Town (Byoo-role) is a large town that sprung up along the mountain pass between West Tandor's southern and eastern coasts. It is the fourth town the player visits on their journey, and home to their second Gym challenge. Caves, cliffs, and ledges completely surround the town, restricting access to only Route 3 to the south and Route 4 to the east. Unlike the bustling Nowtoch City, Burole Town is lush and green with a large mountain lake in the center of town. Still, Burole Town is anything but quiet, as the constant scraping, digging, and expanding of the caves from the Gym Leader, Davern's, crew echo up from the cave depths and bounce off the sheer cliff walls.

Burole Town citizens have a strange sense of pride; they universally look down on people from Moki Town and Kevlar Town as "backwards" and "uncivilized."

Places of Interest[]

Burole Town Gym[]

Main Article: Burole Town Gym

The second gym along the player's journey sits at the northwest corner of Burole town. Built directly into the caves surrounding the town, the gym is dark. The Gym Leader, Davern, specializes in cave-dwelling Pokémon, including Rock, Ground, and Poison-types.

Pokémon School[]

The first optional sidequest in the game, the Pokémon School is an area where the player can go to learn about game mechanics and be ridiculed for not staying in school. On the second floor of the school building students are training their Pokémon. If you battle and defeat all four of them, you get a Nugget to award your efforts.

Tandor Underground[]

Main Article: Tandor Underground

Along the western shore of the lake in the middle of town is an entrance to the Tandor Underground, which allows travelers to quickly zip between towns across the Tandor Region. When you first visit Burole Town, the underground is still under construction and cannot be used. The Tandor Underground becomes available for use after you reach Legen Town.

Shopping Plaza[]

Just outside the Burole Town Subway are various NPCs offering goods and services. (The last 3 items of Lisa's Rustic Shop were added in 1.2.6.)

The woman with a pink umbrella next to the west lamp post will allow you to check the friendship stat of a Pokémon in your party.

Trivia[]

  • The Poké Scammer is likely a reference to the NPC in Gen 1 that would sell a Magikarp to the player for the same price.
    • Unlike in those games however, Magikarp has already been available to the player via the Old Rod which can be acquired before even reaching Burole Town, Pahar is found in the very next route, and Mareep soon after and which doesn't have good matchups against many of the current Gym's Pokemon.
    • This is also the only NPC that the player will haggle with. After choosing a Pokémon, blue text will appear asking for a price that is PokémonDollar W50 higher, then the normal text will state that the price is PokémonDollar W100 higher, before being told that you "drive a hard bargain" and sell for the listed price. (The blue text that appears beforehand may be a glitch displaying text that was initially considered but scrapped.)
