Dig is an offensive and utility Ground-type move. It is contained within TM28, which can be found on Route 8, north of the lake.

Effect

The user burrows underground, becoming semi-invulnerable and immune to Weather damage for the first turn before attacking on the second. Only Magnitude, Earthquake, and Fissure may strike the user while it is underground; these moves never miss an underground target and deal double damage. Other moves may also strike a Pokémon underground if Lock-On or Mind Reader was used beforehand.

Dig may be used outside of battle to escape to the entrance of a cave, much like using an Escape Rope.
