The egg groups are one of 15 classifications to determine which Pokémon can be bred with each other. If the two Pokémon are in different egg groups, they cannot breed. A Pokémon can have either one or two egg groups. When two Pokémon are bred, they will always be the species of the mother or the non-Duplicat. There are certain moves that can the offspring cannot learn normally; these are called Egg Moves.
