Encore is a Normal-type move.

Effect

Encore forces the target to repeat the move its last used for the next three turns. If the target is prevented from using that move by Torment, Taunt, Disable or Cursed Body, it will be forced to use Struggle.

Encore's effect ends immediately if the target runs out of PP for the Encored move. Encore fails if used on itself, if the target has used Mimic, Transform, Mirror Move, Sketch, Struggle, a move with no remaining PP, or if the target has not used a move yet. It also does not affect Pokémon under the effect of Aroma Veil.

Encore can hit through a Substitute.

If a Pokémon is forced to use Focus Punch on a turn it chose another move, the charging message does not appear and it can be executed regardless of whether the Pokémon took damage that turn. If a Pokémon is forced to use Acupressure on a turn it chose another move, it will always target the user, not an ally.
