Filter is an ability introduced in Generation 4. It is obtained exclusively through Mystery Gift.
Effect
In battle
Filter reduces super effective damage by ¼ of its damage. A move that would deal 2× damage will instead deal 1.5× damage, and a move that would deal 4× will instead deal 3×. It has the same effect as Solid Rock.
Outside of battle
Filter has no effect outside of battle.
