A Pokémon so rare and gentle, simply seeing one is said to bless someone with good fortune for a whole year.
Biology
Pokémon
This pokemon is mainly green with yellow and white on some of its body. It always appears to look very content and peaceful with its face and body gesture. It seems to have small yellow wings on both sides of the torso. The wings are for aesthetic purposes as they provide no real use. It has 4 feet and a body resembling dragon with some aspects of a dog specifically a Corgi. It has small, slightly yellow tinted horns on the top of its head.
Prior to The 3 Year Anniversary Patch, Luxelong used Serperior's cry.
The evolutionary requirements for the Luxi line are nearly identical to those of the Budew line, the only difference being that the Luxi line does not require a certain time of day.
For the 2018 Lunar New Year (starting Feb 15) Luxi, Luxor, and Luxelong got new skins.
Luxi, Luxor, and Luxelong are one of only two 3-stage evolution lines whose catch rate stays the same at all stages, with the other being the Chicoatl line. However, the Luxi line lacks any Pokémon capable of being caught in the wild by the player.
Luxi, Luxor, and Luxelong are the only members of a 3-stage evolution line (not counting Megas) that can become fully evolved by Level 2.
Design origin
Luxelong appears to be inspired by Falkor the Luck Dragon from the film The Neverending Story. It also likely draws inspiration from Maneki-neko (招き猫), the Japanese lucky cat figurines, and may be based on the concept of fairy dragons, small dragons with fairy-like qualities. It was also mildly inspired by corgis.
Luxelong was designed with assistance from Sir Aquakip.
Name origin
Luxelong is a combination of lucky, possibly luxury, perhaps lux (a unit for measuring light and Latin for "light"), and long (Chinese for "dragon") or elongate.
