Moxie (ability)

Boosts the Attack stat after knocking out any Pokémon.

Moxie is an ability introduced in Generation 5. So far, 11 Pokémon have this ability.

Effect

In battle

Moxie raises the Attack of the bearer by one stage if it causes another Pokémon (including an ally) to faint through direct damage. Moxie will not be activated by indirect damage, such as through Sandstorm or an item like Rocky Helmet. Moxie will not activate if an allied Pokémon defeats a foe in a Double Battle. This ability stacks, raising attack with each faint.

Outside of battle

Moxie has no effect outside of battle.

Moxie will activate even when the opposing Pokémon is the last one in a trainer's party or a wild Pokémon.
