Nuclear |
The Nuclear Type is a new Pokémon type introduced in Pokémon Uranium, bringing the total number of types present in the game to 19.
Nuclear can be considered a type akin to the Shadow-type in Pokémon Colosseum and XD. Regular Pokémon that are exposed to an undue amount of radiation will become corrupted and feral, turning a different color. Unlike the Shadow-type, however, those who have become corrupted can evolve, even Pokemon which evolve through friendship.
Corrupted Nuclear Pokémon are much more aggressive than normal Pokémon and have been likened to mindless monsters that will attack anything in sight. The player can catch them, but they may disobey orders. During the course of the story, corrupted Nuclear Pokémon can be cured to act normally and obey orders. Their typing, appearance, and moveset will remain the same. Naturally occurring Nuclear-type Pokémon, such as Urayne, Nucleon, and Hazma, are stable and will behave normally without any special treatment.
In earlier versions, certain feral Nuclear Pokémon could breed (Nuclear forms would produce non-nuclear offspring). However, this was a glitch that has since been corrected. Pokémon that are naturally Nuclear type can breed (Nucleon, Hazma, Geigeroach, and the Xenomite line).

Pokémon
There are currently 7 known natural Nuclear-type Pokémon, which is about 3% of all Pokémon.
There are also 36 Pokémon that can have an alternate form with the Nuclear subtype, if they were corrupted by radiation from nearby radiated sources. Pokémon that aren't naturally Nuclear-type are aggressive, and may disobey their trainers if caught.

Trivia
- All Nuclear-type Pokémon that can Mega Evolve would be part Dark-type in their usual Mega Evolution. However, only Baariette will be Dark-type in its Nuclear form, as Nuclear takes the place of Dark on Gyarados and Arbok.
- On dual-type Pokémon (with the exception of Nuclear Actan) the Nuclear-type is exclusively a secondary type.
- In a Custom Game with the randomiser mode active, there is a chance the player can encounter a Nuclear Masking and Dramsama, despite the two Pokémon lacking nuclear form sprites.
- Nuclear is the only Type to be weak against Normal-Type moves.
- There are a number of corrupted nuclear Pokémon that become unobtainable (without trading) by the end of the game. The first being the chyinmunk line which becomes impossible to obtain after nuclear plant Epsilon. Next is the Gligar line which become unobtainable after route 11. The Chupacho, Corsola, Magikarp, and Tubjaw lines all become unobtainable after nuclear plant Omicron. Finally the Tancoon, Owten, Ekans, and Baashaun lines as well as Barand (The only nuclear dragon type) become unobtainable after the Hazard zone.
