It evolves into Sponaree when leveled up while knowing Bubble Beam, learned at level 20. Female Smore, Sponee and Tricwe can also evolve into Seikamater by reaching level 45 while holding the Royal Jelly.
(Note: Pokémon that evolve via moves must either know the move before leveling up, or learn the move upon leveling up. For example, a Pokémon that does not learn the required move but is taught it via the Move Expert in Venesi City must be leveled up again before it will evolve. It is also possible to breed offspring that already know the required move and will evolve immediately upon leveling up as long as the required move is not replaced.)
SPONEE are covered by a bizarre sponge-like material. When dropped, they bounce.
Biology[]
Physiology[]
Sponee is a small bug Pokémon with a round body, tiny legs and pincers. Its whole body is covered in a sponge-like material that absorbs and stores water. It has four shiny eyes and a spongy tuft on its head.
Gender Differences[]
None, but only female Sponee can be evolved into Seikamater.
Special Abilities[]
Sponee can store water in its spongy body. It floats when dropped in water and bounces when dropped on a solid surface.
Behavior[]
Sponee are shy Pokémon that tend to avoid humans. They are photophobic and scuttle away when a bright light is shined on them. However they are very obedient to their trainers.
Habitat[]
All Smore, Sponee, and Tricwe in Tandor originate from the Anthell, a massive underground hive where the Seikamater dwells. Sponee are responsible for carrying water deep into the Anthell so Seikamater can drink.
Sponee is based on an ant and a sponge. It may also be based on froghoppers, a type of insect where the juveniles cover themselves in foam for protection (also known as spittlebugs).
Name Origin[]
Sponee probably comes from sponge and wee (a slang for the word little).
