In battle

In Trainer battles, Teleport always fails.

In wild battles, the user flees and the battle ends.
Teleport will fail if the user is trapped by a trapping move or ability.

Teleport will succeed regardless of Ingrain.
If the user is holding a Smoke Ball, Teleport will succeed regardless of trapping moves and Abilities.

Outside of battle

It is unknown whether Teleport would warp the player to the healing spot they visited last.
